Eddie thinks about Rita all the time
raising and lowering
the volume
in time with the temperature
It’s no coincidence
Eddie supposes
that Pump it Up plays
on the car radio
on the way to see Rita
Eddie plays loud
and he has to look cool
on stage
Rita gives him some volume
and a couple of highlights
before the gig
Free tickets
up front
mosh pit
admires her work
through the sweat
and the tears
and the sheer volume
